College Intern

FFAC - Seattle

Are you interested in combating climate change? Do you want to build professional skills to advocate for social justice?

The Factory Farming Awareness Coalition Seattle internship program is designed for college students located in Washington that are interested in supporting FFAC's mission. Through administrative work, mentorship and hands-on experiences, interns gain valuable tools to become compassionate leaders.


Students who are selected can choose from a variety of tasks based on personal interest including:

  • Being trained as a speaker and giving presentations regarding factory farming

  • Handing out plant-based foods at their college/community events

  • Promoting Green Mondays at their college/community

  • Tabling to raise awareness about factory farming

  • Mentoring teens and developing workshops for the high school intern program

  • Creating curriculum

  • Research

  • Managing social media accounts

  • Planning the Mac Down

  • Database management

The time commitment is a minimum of 2 hours per week (not including some optional day-long events). Most work can be done remotely and via virtual check-ins, but interns are strongly encouraged to meet regularly with FFAC staff at their college and attend work parties at the FFAC office in Oakland. Interns are also invited to monthly events for networking, volunteering, film screenings, and cooking demos.
